After the pandemic, and perhaps for some students before it, there has been a very noticeable and tangible reluctance and lack of confidence in our young people when it comes to speaking out in front of their peers. They have become increasingly accustomed to hiding behind screens and are very self-conscious.
These workshops will encourage students to break through barriers in their mindset and find their voice in enjoyable, practical, and engaging ways! By having fun presenting together, the fear of doing so in class will be removed. Students will be provided with advice and resources to maintain their confidence in presenting and will know how to prepare and present for different situations.
The workshop will begin with icebreakers to reduce anxiety, followed by lessons on structuring presentations, creating engaging content, and using visual aids effectively. Practical tips on body language, eye contact, and voice modulation will be provided.
Students will practise their skills through short presentations and receive constructive feedback from peers and the facilitator. They will also learn strategies for managing presentation anxiety. By the end of the workshop, students will have a toolkit of skills and resources to help them present confidently in any setting.
This workshop provides a fun and interactive exploration of the key verbal and non-verbal features of great presentations. Students will be given advice on getting up in front of their peers, and have the opportunity to practise presenting in order to begin to develop this vital lifelong skill.
This workshop provides engaging and relevant strategies for preparing for assessment in Speaking and Listening. Students will explore structuring speeches, how to effectively deliver to an audience, and be afforded practice opportunities in order to know how to obtain success.
This workshop provides effective and practical advice for students preparing for presentations in different contexts, e.g.: university admission/job interview. They will be able to engage with stimulating activities that allow them to explore how to plan a presentation, appropriate behaviours and addressing different audiences. They will leave feeling confident and prepared!
