Leading Advancements in Teaching Excellence

"Leading on our vision while managing short-term operations is the key to success in any school" (Andrew Hammond, 2023). In the bustling environment of schools and colleges, leaders and teachers often find themselves juggling multiple demands. Amid this constant 'firefighting,' maintaining a focus on high-quality learning and teaching in the classroom can be challenging.

This course begins by examining teaching as both a science and an art. We delve into the 'magic ingredients' of successful lessons from various researchers' perspectives and evaluate if these elements are consistently implemented in practice. We then investigate the critical role of leadership in ensuring quality and consistency in education.

The course centres on four main steps to enhance the quality of learning and teaching:

  1. Promoting a Unified Vision: Cultivate a school-wide language and vision for learning and teaching.
  2. Effective Feedback and Dialogue: Foster a culture of trust to enable meaningful feedback and communication.
  3. Evidence-Based Approaches: Utilise and contribute to research to inform and improve teaching practices.
  4. Support and Challenge: Provide constructive support and challenge to drive continuous improvement.

Leaders will leave the session with a clear understanding of how to balance visionary leadership with effective management, ensuring their school's sustained success and high-quality educational outcomes.

We have used Learnspark for a number of years now to deliver support and training for parents and students to get them revision ready. They have a wealth of knowledge to share and are so entertaining! Parents in particular have found the support invaluable and we have found the sessions an excellent starting point to develop our partnership with parents in their child's learning.

We have worked with Learn Spark in several areas across our school.  The workshops and support provided, whether to further enhance our professional capacity or to build the wider skill set of our students or engage positively with parents, have all been interesting, engaging, energetic and beneficial to all involved.   Paul and his team provide a first-rate service and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
