Mastering Difficult Staff Interactions and Conversations

Effective leaders clearly communicate their vision, provide training and support to their team, and work tirelessly to maintain their motivation and resources. They create detailed action plans that outline milestones and responsibilities, establishing a structured framework for achieving change and progress. Despite these efforts, resistance can still emerge among staff, manifesting as hesitation or attempts to obstruct progress. In such instances, leaders must directly confront these challenges, engaging in difficult conversations and addressing concerns head-on. Unfortunately, many leaders feel unprepared for these situations and may either avoid confronting issues or escalate them to higher management.

This course aims to empower leaders by enhancing their skills and confidence when engaging in these encounters, offering a platform to refine their technique and approach. Through practical scenarios involving challenging individuals and circumstances, participants will learn effective language and strategies to de-escalate tensions and foster productive interactions. The course emphasises the key principles encapsulated in our 'Core Considerations of Challenging Conversations'.

Leaders will emerge from the course with heightened knowledge and confidence in managing difficult interactions and conversations effectively.

We have used Learnspark for a number of years now to deliver support and training for parents and students to get them revision ready. They have a wealth of knowledge to share and are so entertaining! Parents in particular have found the support invaluable and we have found the sessions an excellent starting point to develop our partnership with parents in their child's learning.

We have worked with Learn Spark in several areas across our school.  The workshops and support provided, whether to further enhance our professional capacity or to build the wider skill set of our students or engage positively with parents, have all been interesting, engaging, energetic and beneficial to all involved.   Paul and his team provide a first-rate service and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
