To struggle with Literacy, or to lack confidence in one’s own Literacy skills, can be a very isolating and debilitating experience. Not everyone feels confident enough, or equipped, to deal with a student who presents with such barriers to learning within the context of a school or college setting – particularly if they are not teaching what would traditionally be considered a ‘Literacy’ or ‘Literary-based’ subject.
This course aims to empower and enable teachers in all subjects to aid students with literacy difficulties, ensuring that they are better supported in accessing the curriculum as a whole. The course will consider a range of challenges that students may face, from reading comprehension to written expression, and will provide a variety of practical strategies that can be applied in any subject area. By equipping teachers with these tools, the course helps to create a more inclusive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed across the curriculum.

We have used Learnspark for a number of years now to deliver support and training for parents and students to get them revision ready. They have a wealth of knowledge to share and are so entertaining! Parents in particular have found the support invaluable and we have found the sessions an excellent starting point to develop our partnership with parents in their child's learning.
