In this 1.5-hour session, Literacy Co-ordinators, teachers, and support staff will explore essential strategies to enhance reading development and contribute to a whole-school approach to literacy support.

Seminar Overview:

During the seminar, we will explore:

  1. The Components of Skilled Reading: Learn the components of skilled reading and explore practical strategies to improve word recognition and comprehension.
  2. Research-Based Reading Support: Discover evidence-based techniques for supporting students in reading development.
  3. Empowering Staff: Understand how to engage all staff, including teachers and learning support, in a cohesive effort to improve reading outcomes.

Seminar Details:

  • Duration: 1.5 hours.
  • Target Audience: Literacy Coordinators, teachers, learning support teachers, classroom assistants.
  • Format: Interactive discussions and practical insights.
  • Outcome: Gain actionable strategies to support reading development and foster a school-wide reading culture.

Seminars will take place from 3:45 PM to 5:15 PM and will be delivered virtually from our Learn Spark Studio. The seminars won’t be like your typical online experience; they will embody the Learn Spark spirit, full of high energy and engagement, all in a virtual format.
